Australian police say Tongan authorities have seized more than 200 kilograms of cocaine from a yacht that had run aground at an uninhabited atoll.

They say the street value of the narcotics seized is estimated to be up 120 million US dollars.

The yacht, which was found grounded on a reef off Vava'u, had a badly decomposed body on board.

The seizure is part of an joint operation involving the Tongan Police, Cook Islands Police, the Australian Federal Police, Australian Customs and Border Protections Service and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
