Nauru Police have charged 15 asylum seekers with rioting and wilful damage.

The 15, all Iranians, have been charged after incidents on the 30th of September at the camp which now houses about 400 asylum seekers sent to the island by Australia.

They are to appear in court on Monday to answer the charges.

The Nauru government says 24 thousand US dollars damage was caused to the detention camp.
