A history-making women's basketball coaching clinic is being held in the Marshall Islands this week.

The first-ever women's clinic started on Friday and continues through until Tuesday.

The Marshall Islands Basketball Federation is running coaching clinics for men and women in alternating morning and afternoon sessions during the visit by Paul Goriss, the senior men's basketball coach at the Australian Institute of Sport.

The Federation's secretary general Deborah K. Shoniber says the women's clinic consists of four days of four-hour-per-day intensive classroom sessions coupled with on-court practical work.

She says the training will be good exposure and they want to see women's more women and girls to participate in more regional tournaments.
