Senior Fiji military officer under investigation

The Fiji military is investigating allegations of abuse of office by a senior army officer.

FBC News reports that the officer, who is also alleged to have abused the Soldiers Welfare Scheme, has been suspended.

The military's chief of staff, Brigadier General Mohammed Aziz, has told the FBC the officer is on leave.

The Land Force Commander, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga, has told Radio New Zealand International an investigation is underway.
