Extensions to parliament in Solomons will enhance MPs performance

9:16 am on 28 November 2012

The Solomon Islands Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga says new extensions to the national parliament will help improve the performance of MPs.

The recently opened Paul Tovua Complex gives all MPs their own office complex within the parliament grounds for the first time.

A statement from the government communication unit quotes Mr Maelanga saying the complex will enhance the Parliament in fulfilling its oversight, legislative and representative functions.

Taiwan committed around US$3 million towards the building.
