Fixing roads in American Samoa priority for new administration

8:50 am on 28 November 2012

The Governor elect Lolo Matalasi Moliga says fixing the roads in American Samoa is one of the incoming administration's first priorities.

He says the public should not have to suffer the worsening road conditions for much longer.

Governor Moliga and Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga plan to meet with road construction companies to see if there's a quick way to get the roads repaired.

Lolo says if the companies can do the work on credit, or some other way, that's the route they'll take.

Lolo says other priorities for the new administration include addressing the high Power Authority bills, the hospital, and schools.

Lolo also says the disparity in salaries between government workers in high positions and those at the bottom needs to be reviewed.
