Samoa's Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture is reviewing the salaries, performance and the training needs of teachers.

This is part of the National Teachers Development Framework aimed at improving the quality of teaching and enticing qualified teachers to stay in the profession.

Teachers last received pay raises two years ago.

The acting chief executive of School Operations, Maimoana Petaia, says each teacher's performance and experience is being reviewed.
