Three men in American Samoa accused of the June 2011 beating death of Sio Faumui, have reached a plea agreement which is likely to mean reduced sentences.

Ne'emia Poamo, Migo Misa and Sefo Siaulaiga were initially charged with second degree murder, but under the plea agreement they have all admitted to criminal negligent homicide.

This charge is punishable by up to five years jail and a fine of up to five thousand US dollars, or both.

Each man had admitted to punching Mr Faumui in the face, which led to his death.

They are to be sentenced next week.
