An advisor with a Delaware based company involved in a controversial and secretive business deal with the governor is in the territory promoting the arrangement.

The company signed a 191 million US dollar deal for the development of a 50 mega-watt power plant with the governor, Benigno Fitial and former attorney general Edward Buckingham.

It is also to set up a shipyard facility.

The agreements have been widely criticised but advisor Kenneth Mahmood says it is the best deal possible for the CNMI, and he hopes the people get behind it to spur economic growth.
