Tonga police say they have charged a 52 year old man with the murder of his 25 year old female partner.
Police say Kilifi Nau reported he found the body of the victim in his home in Nuku'alofa on Tongatapu this morning but they say their investigations show he had assaulted her on Wednesday night.
The offender, who is in police custody, is to appear at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate Court on Friday.
