The death toll in Samoa from tropical cyclone Evan is expected to rise as several people are still missing.
The only confirmed deaths are two people.
The cyclone passed over the Samoa group a second time last night but it did not cause as much damage on Upolu as the destruction it left in its wake on Wednesday.
The Editor of Le weekender newspaper, Merita Huch, says the police say a Peace Corp teacher in Faleali'i is still missing, and a coupe who had been visiting family in Vaitele are also unaccounted for.
Last night police also asked the public for help in locating a fishing boat that had not been heard from since Tuesday night.
Water and power are still out in most parts of the country.
Air New Zealand was the first flight into Faleolo Airport which re-opened early this morning after repairs were made to the runway, parts of which were eroded by fierce waves at the height of Cyclone Evan.
The US Ambassador to Samoa David Hubner has pledged 50,000 dollars for immediate assistance to Samoa through the Samoa Red Cross.
