American Samoa government staff granted leave to help with cyclone clean-up

American Samoa government employees, who are Samoan citizens, have been granted up to five working days off to help their families in Samoa after Cyclone Evan.

In a general memerandum, the governor has excused workers to provide on-the-ground assistance to their families in Samoa for five days until the end of the month.

H says the cyclone, which spared American Samoa, displaced many people from their residences and most tragically, the loss of life in Samoa.
