Vanuatu's new Agriculture Minister, Kalfau Moli, says he wants to see local rice on sale in Luganville by 2015 because dependence on imports is not good for the economy.

Mr Moli says he wants to see consumers buying local, value-added products.

The minister also wants to see a wharf built at Black Sands in Port Vila to allow fishing boats to dock and deliver their catch to the nearby Chinese built fish cannery.
