The American Samoa Visitor's Bureau has confirmed that 16 cruise ships are scheduled to visit the Port of Pago Pago in 2013, bringing in up to 40,000 passengers and crew to the Territory.

This year, 2012, a total of 20 ships were schedule but only 19 called into port while the 20th cruise ship cancelled its voyage two weeks ago, due to Cyclone Evan.

For the new year, the Visitor's Bureau says the first ship, Artania, arrives the 31st of January while the last one is November.

All the ships will visit for the day with passengers and crew taking tour excursions, dining out and shopping - giving the territory an economic boost.
