Fiji Sugar Corporation chairman Abdul Khan confirms that a new sugar price is to be expected next year.
Mr Khan told Fiji live they are still in negotiation with Tate & Lyle Sugars. He hopes they will come to an agreement in a month's time.
He says they need to agree on a fair price before making any announcement and they are getting closer to that.
Tate & Lyle Sugars contract will end after the 2015 sugar season.
Meanwhile, Mr Khan says they sustained 20 per cent damage to their matured crops which may have an impact on the crushing season next year.
