Seventh Day Adventist Church to promote French in church

8:58 am on 3 January 2013

In Vanuatu a French speaking panel of the Seventh Day Adventist Church is pushing for a church to be built to cater for its increasing number of francophone members.

The panel says French speaking members have been disadvantaged since independence from Britain and France 32 years ago and now it is the right time to correct this.

It says promoting the French language in the church is in line with the constitution which calls for a bilingual society with both English and French spoken by everybody in Vanuatu.
