Togiola bows out of office in American Samoa

Togiola Tulafono has farewelled American Samoa at the end of 16 years as the territory's Lieutenant Governor and then Governor.

Togiola will hand the reins of government to Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lieutenant Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga.

Samoa's Head of State Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese Efi and Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi are in the territory for the inauguration.

Togiola farewelled the territory, offering a prayer for the incoming leaders.

"It is our hope that we've made a difference for your family, that we've made a difference for your country, and we made a difference in our government. It is our prayer, that whatever we've been able to do, to serve you, that God will make it whole."
