The Solomon Islands opposition leader, Derek Sikua, says the Prime Minister's alleged extramarital affair highlights a serious lapse in Close Police Protection protocol.
This comes as the Leadership Code Commission is to deal with a complaint by Forum Solomon Islands International against Gordon Darcy Lilo for alleged misconduct.
The publicity of the alleged extramarital affair has prompted Mr Lilo to take a defamation case against both the Forum and the Solomon Star newspaper, which also published the allegations.
Dr Sikua has told the Solomon Star that Mr Lilo slipped out of view of the Close Police Protection in what he says is the second such lapse he has referred to the police leadership.
