Reports from Tuvalu say a cabinet minister has fallen ill in Cuba and is unable to travel.
Pacnews says the minister, who is not named, was visiting Tuvaluan students when he fell ill and is now in a hospital in Havana.
Recently, two cabinet ministers died, forcing by-elections in the island of Nui and in Nukufetau.
This is reported to have added pressure on the government of the Prime Minister Willie Telavi.
