UNDP to help Tuvalu develop international trade

7:05 am on 1 February 2013

The United Nations Development Programme says it has launched a programme to help Tuvalu improve its trade.

It says for Tuvalu's integration into the global trade arena, it is essential that a modern, coherent, sustainable and inclusive trade policy is in place.

Just over a million US dollars has been set aside over three years a Geneva-based fund, known as the Enhanced Integrated Framework for Trade Related Activities in Least Developed Countries.

Tuvalu's foreign and trade ministry is to manage the trade capacity building and institution strengthening process.
