Japan's new Ambassador to Samoa Yazuaki Nogawa has presented his credentials to Samoa's Head of State Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi.

Ambassador Nagowa said over the years Japan and Samoa have developed a strong and productive partnership which Japan greatly values.

He also highlighted that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of diplomatic relations between Japan and Samoa.

Samoa opened its Embassy in Tokyo in 2009 and Japan just last month established its Embassy in Apia.

Tui Atua said these developments testify to the mutual goal of further strengthening relations between the two countries.
