A judge in Samoa has called for a registry of sex offenders to identify perpertrators.

Justice Vui Clarence Nelson made the suggestion after a 45-year-old man was charged and sentenced for indecent assault for a second time

According to the Samoa Observer, the man was previously sentenced to three years imprisonment in 2009 for indecently assaulting a neighbour's seven-year-old daughter.

This time, he was accused of indecently assaulting another neighbour's daughter, also a seven-year-old, last December.

Justice Vui says a sex offender registry is needed to alert the public of sexual offenders.
