7:37 pm on 4 February 2013

The United States Agency for International Development is giving the Papua New Guinea Red Cross 50,000 US dollars to support disaster relief efforts in Morobe and Oro provinces.

Last month both provinces were hit by severe floods and landslides.

The Red Cross will use the American money to conduct a detailed beneficiary assessment, provide shelter, water, sanitation, and other basic non-food supplies to those affected.
