The Fiji interim foreign minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola has met his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi in Beijing and reportedly discussed developments in Fiji regarding the implementation of its roadmap towards the 2014 elections.
The Fiji information ministry says in doing so, Ratu Inoke acknowledged with appreciation the support and assistance provided by China.
It quotes Ratu Inoke as saying bilateral relations have grown from strength to strength because of the two governments' commitment to forge stronger partnerships in the various areas of common interest.
He also said Fiji remained steadfast in upholding the One China Policy.
Ratu Inoke also met China's Special Envoy to the Pacific Islands Forum, Stanley Li, to discuss current developments in the Pacific region.
