Papua New Guinea cricket captain Chris Amini says the team has already begun its preparation for October's T20 World Qualifier as it eyes a place on the global stage.

The Barramundi's beat Vanuatu in Thursday's East Asia Pacific final to book a place at the Dubai tournament, from which the best six teams will advance to the

2014 World Cup in Bangladesh.

Chris Amini says there's no time to waste

"So we've got a couple of matches coming up against the Northern Knights on Monday and Tuesday before we head back home and head off to Sri Lanka for a tour there so definitely do wonders for the boys, help improve our standards we've got to have the boys be tested against stronger teams."
