Fiji's Director of Public Prosecutions Office has filed manslaughter charges against a 10-year old boy in connection with the death of a six-year old boy in an alleged shooting incident in Nadi last month.
In statement carried by FBC News, Christopher Pryde says it wasn't an easy decision to charge the 10-year old.
He says the courts will ultimately decide guilt or innocence but at the present, there is sufficient evidence to justify laying charges against the boy.
Mr Pryde says the child will be tried as a juvenile.
