Fiji regime leader meets French bankers

Fiji's interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has met French banking officials in Paris, reportedly in a bid to increase banking investments in Fiji.

According to the Ministry of Information in Suva, Commodore Bainimarama met the director of the BRED Bank, which started operations in Fiji last November.

The Fiji regime leader, who is also holds the finance portfolio, is also using his trip to France to visit the premises of the plane manufacturer Airbus, from which the Fiji national carrier has ordered three A330.

It's not known whether he will meet French government leaders during his stay.
