Fiji's AG says extension given to company building a casino

An extension of deadline has been given to One Hundred Sands Limited to commence the actual constructions of casino in Fiji's Denarau, Nadi.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the construction was supposed to start last year but the company has been given an extension due to finances.

He told Fiji Live construction is now expected to start in May, with the casino due to open October 1.

One Hundred Sands Limited is the first company to have received a casino license to operate in Fiji and the casino is expected to employ 1600 people.
