Education a focus of Tonga King's visit to NZ

King Tupou the sixth of Tonga is in Auckland today, the second day of a three day state visit heavily focused on education.

The King and Tonga's Minister of Education, met with New Zealand's Minister of Education and Pacific Island Affairs, Hekia Parata, on Monday and a meeting is scheduled with international teaching consultants in Tuesday.

The King will meet with officials from Auckland's University of Technology on Wednesday.

King Tupou the sixth is also accompanied by Queen Nanasipau'u who has her own series of meetings including talks with the South Auckland Family Violence Prevention Network.
