The Governor of the Northern Marianas, Eloy Inos, has asked the Governor of Iowa, Terry Branstad, to help extradite the former attorney general of the CNMI.
Edward Buckingham is now considered a wanted fugitive and the CNMI wants him extradited to face multiple charges of felony and misdemeanor.
Mr Buckingham is believed to have taken refuge in Johnson County, Iowa, after he left Saipan with his wife last August the day after criminal charges were filed against him.
