LNG Project takes stock of achievements in constructions phase

The Papua New Guinea LNG Project's Fourth Quarter 2012 Environmental and Social Report has revealed that a total of 3.1 billion US dollars has been spent so far in the project's construction phase.

EM TV reports that of this amount, about 700 million dollars has been spent on landowner companies.

The project says it is also assisting over fourteen thousand Papua New Guineans to get into small businesses.

The report stated that the project is on track for the first LNG deliveries to begin in 2014.

Seventy five percent of the construction phase is complete.
