Papua New Guinea are heavy underdogs going into their Oceania Under 20 Football Championship opener against defending champs New Zealand on Thursday.
The Junior All Whites are stacked with a number of professionals, including Wellington Phoenix pair Louis Fenton and Tyler Boyd and England-based Burnley midfielder Cameron Howieson.
The team played three matches in Brisbane and the Gold Coast as part of their preparations and coach Wesley Waiwai says they have nothing to lose.
"We've come here to play football so we've been preparing for the last how many weeks to come play these matches. We have to do the best we can do - to play out best. I expect to see them play a lot more football - more ball movement and working the opponents and space opening them up and at the same time as defending well. If we are more organised in structure we are in the game."
