The Papua New Guinea government's 40 million US dollar Falcon jet has been brought back to the country by Air Niugini and will be on charter until a buyer is found.

Since the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill assumed office in August 2011, the government has tried to sell the plane and use the money in health services.

But according to The National newspaper, Air Niugini, which was given the responsibility to sell the plane, took it to Singapore for display but incurred costs.

Mr O'Neill says Air Niugini decided to bring the Falcon back so it can be chartered out while waiting for a buyer.
