Sport: Steve Price appointed for second stint as Toa Samoa coach

11:16 am on 2 April 2013

St George Ilawarra coach Steve Price has been appointed head coach of the Toa Samoa national rugby league team.

The 35 year old, who previously coached Samoa in two stand-alone tests in 2010, will take charge for this month's test against Tonga in Penrith and will also lead the team at the World Cup in the Northern Hemisphere later this year.

Rugby League Samoa says it received a number of quality applications for the vacancy but Price's commitment to Samoa and developing international rugby league made him a perfect fit for the role.

Price is in his second year as head coach of the Dragons NRL side and will be able to call on a number of established NRL stars for the Toa, including Roy Asotasi and Steve Matai.
