Samoa starts prep for hosting Small Island States conference

Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, and his government are this week hosting a United Nations planning mission ahead of the 3rd international conference on Small Island Developing States in Apia next year.

The UN delegation is being led by the Under Secretary General for Economic and Social affairs, Wu Hongbo, who will chair next year's summit.

It is expected that 193 member countries will participate with more than three thousand people to attend.

The delegation will be touring a number of sites and the proposed conference venue.
