A group of former Fiji Politicians says two meetings have endorsed its resolution on the regime's draft constitution.

The meetings were called by the United Front for a Democratic Fiji, which is made up of former party leaders, including Ratu Jone Kububola, Mahendra Chaudhry, Raman Singh and Mick Beddoes.

The resolution calls for the rejection of the draft constitution which the group says is being imposed on the people of Fiji by an unelected regime in a dictatorial and arbitrary manner

It calls on the regime to revert to the Constitutional Commission's draft constitution and to submit it to a Constituent Assembly, and then to a national referendum.

The group is also calling for the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

It is now planning to launch a national petition to be presented to the President, and international institutions including the UN and Commonwealth, and will hold more meetings around the country.
