An advocate for women in business in Papua New Guinea says local women should establish networks with counterparts in the United States.

The president of the group, PNG Women in Business, Janet Sape also says local women in PNG should be encouraged to identify their business activities in cocoa, coffee and bilum.

Ms Sape, who has returned to Port Moresby following a trip to Detroit in America, says an organisation in the US called We Connect has members with chocolate factories who want PNG women to supply them with cocoa.

She says the door is now open for women in PNG to do business with women in America and says women must network and work together to sustain themselves their families.
