Tahiti's Dragon have suffered a blow in their bid to qualify for the Oceania Champions League playoffs, after drawing 1-1 with Mont-Dore Wednesday night.
A win over the New Caledonians would have put them top of Group B ahead of the final round of group matches.
Dragon made a perfect start when Nicolas Vallar found the back of the net in the 35th minute.
But Mont-Dore, who are yet to win in this years tournament, equalised through Dan Vakie in the 73rd minute.
Adding to the home team's woes, captain Vallar was shown a red card in injury time and will miss this weekend's final group game against Auckland City in Papeete.
Dragon must win that game to guarantee their place in the semi finals, while City need just a draw to advance.
Waitakere United are now confirmed in the last four although a win against Mont Dore would ensure they win the group.
