Voter registration prior to the Western and Choiseul provincial elections in Solomon Islands this year are to open on June 3 with elections set to take place in mid-September.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening, Stanley Pirione says the voter registration process will be shorter than normal.
Mr Pirione said despite setbacks regarding financing for voter registration, the Ministry is committed to ensuring that all those eligible to vote in the 2013 provincial elections have the opportunity to participate in the elections.
