The former Samoa rugby league international Ben Te'o has been included in an extended Queensland team for next week's State of Origin series opener, despite allegations that he assaulted a 22 year-old Brisbane woman.

The South Sydney backrower was grilled for hours by the NRL's integrity unit last week over allegations that he punched the woman in the face last month, fracturing her eye socket.

Maroons coach Mal Meninga says they're being governed by the results of the NRL investigation and will make a final decision when that comes out.
