The Fiji Court of Appeal has dismissed the ousted prime minister Laisenia Qarase's appeal against his sentence and conviction.
Last month, Qarase was released from prison after serving just over half of a one-year sentence for abuse of office.
Fijilive reports that all four judges agreed with the High Court decision and decided that the judgment be affirmed.
Qarase was found guilty on nine charges of abusing his office and failing to perform his duties as a public servant some 20 years ago, in the early 1990s.
