The Fiji National Provident Fund says employers who have outstanding contributions have until Sunday to make use of an amnesty and pay up.

A senior Fund manager, Alipate Waqairawai, has told FBC News that employers who fail to pay up will face harsh penalties.

The amnesty period was until the end of May but after requests from employers it was extended to the 30th of this month.

He says the penalty is employers will have to pay an extra 50 US dollars a month per employee until they have paid the outstanding contribution.
