Fiji residents get water relief in Lautoka after cuts

7:19 am on 5 August 2013

Fijian residents in the country's second biggest city have had some relief from water cuts since Wednesday.

Fiji Broadcasting Corporation says the Water Authority of Fiji has announced repair works to a burst main in Lautoka have been completed.

The city has been without water for four days and although repairs are done at the Vuda back road, the Authority says water carting will continue until the water supply is fully restored, with reservoirs still being re-filled.

Water trucks are supplying water to most parts of Lautoka and water tanks have also been provided, along with Fiji Water bottles.
