Fiji sets final 2012 sugar cane payment

Fiji sugar cane farmers will get 1 US dollar and 70 cents per tonne of cane as the final payment for the 2012 season.

FBC News says the amount was announced by the the Acting Sugar Industry Tribunal, Tim Brown.

Sugar mills will begin winding down their crushing operations in the next few weeks.
