A handful of passengers confirmed on a Monday night Hawaiian Air flight from American Samoa to Samoa were not allowed to board because they suffered from pink eye.
The passengers were told to reschedule their bookings and provide a doctor's note clearing them to fly.
Samoa is the suspected source of the pink eye outbreak in the territory.
The disease, which can be caused by a virus or bacteria, has developed into an outbreak in American Samoa with health officials now seeing cases in the double digits every day.
The Department of Health's medical director, Tamasoali'i Dr Joseph Tufa, says there is no major health concern over pink eye and the condition usually clears up on its on in one to six weeks.
