Fiji Airways enters partnership with Etihad

Fiji Airways says it has entered a partnership with Etihad, which is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates.

The website Fijivillage reports that the deal involves a codeshare agreement with Etihad helps Fiji Airways expand to more destinations.

Etihad, which is based in Abu Dhabi, flies to among others 17 cities in the Middle East and 12 in Europe.

The Minister for Tourism, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says the move is certain to open Fiji up to new and exciting developments.

Fiji Airways already has codeshare deals with American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Air New Zealand.
