Samoa's Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi is now responsible for the Ministry of Finance.
The prime minister takes over the finance portfolio after last week's resignation of Faumuina Tiatia Liuga from the job.
Tuilaepa was the former finance minister for some twenty years under the leadership of the former and late Prime Minister, Tofilau Eti Alesana.
Tuilaepa has also appointed new cabinet minister and MP for Satupa'itea constituency on Savaii island, Lautafi Fio Selafi Purcell as the Minister of the new Ministry of Public Enterprises.
Tuila'epa's other portfolios such as the minister of Public Service Commission, Statistics, Sports Federation Authority, Samoa Land Corporation and Housing have also been handed over to Lautafi.
The new Ministry of Public Enterprises according to Tuila'epa will be working to collect millions of dollars.
