The Samoa Under 20s rugby team continue their build-up to next month's Junior World Championship against the Counties Manakau development team on Wednesday.

The squad is made up of 21 players from New Zealand, four from Samoa and three from Australia, with no players returning from the team that finished ninth last year.

Former Manu Samoa international Semo Sititi is also a new face in the coaching box, replacing Viliamu Punivalu who is now in charge of the national sevens team.

The team has already toured Australia and spent time preparing back in Samoa, and Sititi says the remaining warm-up games are about ironing out any final concerns.

"(We're in the) last leg of our preparation so we're looking at getting our system and patches right. We've done the fitness and all the strength in the past few weeks, now it's just trying to get the team together".

Samoa open the tournament proper next month against hosts New Zealand and also face South Africa and Scotland in pool play.
