Economic ministers from around the region will converge on Solomon Islands this week for the annual Pacific Islands Forum Economic Ministers Meeting.

The forum's Secretary General, Tuiloma Neroni Slade, says this year's meeting will focus on tourism sector development and its linkages to other sectors in Pacific Island economies.
In line with the theme, the minsters will also consider developments in essential infrastructure to enhance tourism development, particularly airports and cruise ship facilities.
Mr Slade says a joint Pacific Health Ministers will also be held to discuss ways to address non-communicable diseases, which are increasingly impacting on economic development.
