The lone hospital in the Northern Marianas has welcomed ten new doctors and now has 33 physicians onboard at the Commonwealth Health Centre.
The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation CEO, Esther Muña, (Munya) says the addition of the ten new doctors is all part of management's recruitment and retention plan.
Ms Muña says the physicians include internal medicine doctors, pediatricians, general surgeons, anesthesiologists, psychiatrists, family practitioners, and a gastroenterologist.
She also says recruitment is more costly than retention and that replacing physicians can cost up to 50,000 US dollars per recruitment.
